If you read my last blog post, you’ll know that I’ve just given birth to a gorgeous baby girl and now I’m not pregnant anymore, what better excuse for a shopping trip? For the past few months, I’ve been looking at pics of pregnant celebs to try to style my bump in a cool way, and now that my baby is suddenly out I’ve realised that nothing fits and it makes me feel frumpy and clumsy.
I don’t like feeling this way – my default state is positive and energetic – so I asked myself what would make me feel better. And I figured out that I haven’t been spending any time on myself since she came along. I wouldn’t change that, I’m not asking for a day nor even an hour off, but I know that if I had a long shower, put on fashionable clothes afterwards and made sure my nails and hair were the best they could be then at least I’d feel like me when I looked in the mirror.
So I’ve booked my nail appointment, I’m calling the hairdressers and I’m thinking about what clothes would best suit me in-between sizes. What better way to start then by looking at some celeb yummy mummies for inspiration?
Mum of two Frankie Sandford has lost none of her sassy style since having children. I like her playsuit as she shows off her legs without having to worry about flashing her knickers if she suddenly has to chase a child.
Myleene Klass is the ultimate sleek, sophisticated yummy mummy. She always looks smart and groomed and I want to look and feel just as put together as she does. The way to start with that is to maybe shop some of her range for Littlewoods. Don’t be snobby about the name ‘Littlewoods’ – there’s so much more to it than you’d expect.
I’m a huge fan of Mila Kunis – she’s one of my top girl crushes – and I’m always impressed by how she looks stunning even when dressed casually. The key is to mix classic pieces that fit her perfectly. I’d recreate one of her looks withthe Moto clean Jamie jeans from Topshop and the tie back shirt from Topshop Boutique.
I’m definitely feeling more confident now. Hopefully this has given you some inspiration too?
