H&M Kids

He’s just 9 weeks old, but Rory has a busier social life than I do. He meets up with his girlfriends from NCT, he goes to the library for Bounce and Rhyme, to baby yoga, to meet my old work colleagues and plays with the other boy babies on my street. Because of this, he needs a wide range of outfits. I know it sounds strange, but I feel like it reflects badly on me if I put him in the same thing twice. I love my son so much that I want him to look loved and cared for.

Right now, we’re having a lot of fun going to different shops and seeing what each one has to offer. We did Baby Gap last week and this week it was time to try H&M on the advice of my sister, who visited the store near her work and said she saw tons of lovely outfits.

In London, there’s a H&M on practically every street corner. They’re not quite as prolific as Pret A Manger and Starbucks, but there does seem to be millions of them. I think that’s a good thing as they do have some gorgeous baby outfits at affordable prices without compromising on quality. It’s really important to me that Rory feels comfortable and I’ll only buy clothes if the fabric feels soft (and if it’s easy to wash). So we popped into a branch near Victoria station before meeting my sister for lunch and this is what we saw:

rorysoutfithmWe bought some roll-up cotton trousers from H&M (£6.99), which are great for this time of year as they turn into shorts if the weather is hot and you can pull them down into trousers if it’s hot. The cotton cardigan (£14.99) has a super cool nautical stripe, which is as on trend for kids as it is for adults. It’s not the exact one that Rory is wearing in the photo at the top of this blog post as that’s sold out, but I love it as it’s more practical and babies can wear a small vest underneath it if the British summer weather isn’t up to scratch.
